The project was envisaged by the Dubai Municipality to improve the road network and reduce the traffic at the signailsed junction of Ramool Road near the Garhood Bridge. The project consisted of five bridges and road works; including road lighting, diversion & improvements for the existing services such as sewerage, drainage, telecommunication, electrical works, water, landscape works & irrigation system. The project also included the improvement of signalised junction of Ramool Road with Road # 206.
The principal challenges for the project were to improve the traffic flow including; the traffic coming from Sharjah & Ittihad Road towards Ramool & Rashidiya across Ittihad Road through flyover, the traffic coming from Rashidiya & Ramool towards Garhood Bridge and from Al Bustan Road towards Garhood Bridge across Ramool and Ittihad Roads through flyover (2 bridges), the traffic coming from Garhood Bridge and Ramool Road to Al Bustan Road through another bridge, the traffic coming from Al Bustan Road towards Rashidiya across Ramool Road (bridge # 5).
The project comprised; 924,471 m2 Asphalt and paving works, 27,385m3 of concrete and 4,554 tons of steel.
