On Wednesday, 08/09/2021, the Project Contract “Improvement of Kappari Avenue in Paralimni” was signed between the Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and the consortium WADE ADAMS CONTRACTING (Cyprus) Limited – LOIS BUILDERS LIMITED. The contract was signed in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Mr. Giannis Karousos, the Minister of Interior Mr. Nikos Nouris and the Mayor of Paralimni Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis.
The new road network will consist of the main road network which is 2.07 km long and the secondary road network which is approximately 1.0 km long. The main road network will include two lanes with parking on both sides (parallel parking), paved sidewalks, green lanes on both sides, a 2.60 m wide bicycle path on the right side of the road, pedestrian crossings and bus stops. A new roundabout will be constructed in the last approximately 250 m of the project.
The secondary road network will consist of two lanes and sidewalks. A bicycle path will also be constructed on Giorki Papadopoulou Street on the north side of the road.
The Project will include, inter alia, the following:
A new rainwater drainage network, a new sewage network in part of the Project, new irrigation network, new water supply network, undergrounding of electricity and telecommunications services, construction of retaining walls.
With the implementation of the Project, road safety will be upgraded, traffic will be facilitated, alternative means of transportation will be promoted while overall the image of the area will be upgraded aesthetically, qualitatively but above all functionally
